J.E. Richards, Inc. installed full electrical installations for a New Cancer Treatment Facility. The project entailed the install of (1) 4000A SQD PZ4 Switchboard, (1) 1600A switchboard, (1) 810 KVA UPS, (3) 80 KVA power conditioners, and (1) 100 KUA power conditioner. UPS utilized a fly wheel in lieu of batteries. Special Systems included the install of (5) operational treatment rooms for the radiology unit, working with systems vendors to install radiation equipment, and the installation of 100,000 square feet of conduit in these areas to accommodate all systems controls, inner locks and interfaces.
The challenging aspect of the project was rigging and moving equipment to the ground floor.
The Sibley Cancer Center offers patients and their families a calm and private setting and a high level of patient care in their state of the art facilities.
This project was recognized by The Washington Building Congress Craftsmanship for outstanding craftsmanship with awards for both Electrical / Power Generation, Distribution and Switchgear and Special Systems.
