McPhee Electric, Ltd. has had an extensive relationship Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority providing electrical construction and other services to the Uncasville, CT casino. The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority is an entity of the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut, a federally recognized Indian tribe with an approximately 405-acre reservation situated in southeastern Connecticut. McPhee acted as the electrical trades manager for the Phase II expansion which involved constructing a new 800,000 square foot casino, an arena, and the 38-story hotel. The Mohegan Sun Phase II project doubled the size of the campus and completely overhauled the electrical infrastructure based on an increased load of 40MW from the existing 12 MW. The complex required new public utility company circuits and substations to be constructed while keeping the facility operating 24/7. For this project, and continued projects at Mohegan, McPhee worked alongside Native Sons, Ltd. a Native American Contractor.
In 2007, McPhee completed various aspects of electrical services to the new section of the casino that resembles an Asian marketplace offering Pai Gow Poker, Sic Bo, and Mini Baccarat in an authentic Asian gaming environment. The expansion includes a 4,000 square foot food court, an expanded bus lobby, Hong Kong food outlets, and Asian games.
McPhee continues to provide electrical services to Mohegan Sun on a daily basis and continued preventive maintenance services through PowerHawke, Inc, a Phalcon Company.
